Leanne Mullan
Leanne Mullan, RN CDE, BN, GradCertDiabM, MBA(health management), is a credentialled diabetes educator. In her clinical role, Leanne consults with patients with all forms of diabetes both in the community and acute hospital wards, and also provides insulin pump support and pre-pregnancy counselling. She is passionate about effective diabetes management which encompasses the psychosocial aspects of the condition. In addition to her clinical work, Leanne currently works for the Australian Diabetes Society and National Association of Diabetes Centres as a Project Manager and is responsible for the NADC Foot Network, Pharmacy Accreditation Committee, online National Diabetes Care Course, diabetes centre accreditation, diabetes national policy/position statement development, project management (including NDSS projects) and strategic planning. She also assists with the expert review of diabetes resources and educational material produced through the NDSS, and reviews NDSS product subsidy applications in her role as a Medical Education Scientific Advisory Council Project Officer. Further, Leanne regularly contributes to Diabetes Care, an online thought leadership platform dedicated to providing diabetes information and education. She prepares authored content, provides expert opinion and editorials. Leanne is completing her PhD on the barriers to preventative diabetes foot care.
