Katie Wynne
Professor Katie Wynne is Dean of Medicine and Head of the School of Medicine & Public Health at the University of Newcastle, and Senior Staff Specialist in Endocrinology & Diabetes at John Hunter Hospital. Trained at Cambridge University and Imperial College London, Wynne completed a PhD investigating gut hormone physiology and its role in appetite and body-weight regulation. Clinical and research interests span diabetes in pregnancy, metabolic and endocrine health, transgender health, and health professions education. Wynne has led numerous nationally funded research programs and holds leadership roles including the AusPATH Executive Board and chair of the Medical Deans Australia and New Zealand Student Wellbeing Committee.
